This book is a train wreck Aug 22, 2009
By Michael Prewitt I will try to keep this review brief. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. I am a regular Amazon book purchaser, typically buying 3-4 books per month and I have never written a review until today. Where do I begin? I am no english teacher (I am an engineer in the power industry) but the grammar was BAD. The author seemed to have issues maintaining a consistent theme/topic throughout an entire paragraph (much less chapter). He sometimes repeated himself (nearly identical paragraphs) and would break out into juvenile side thoughts. Literally, the language and writing was so poor and distracting, it was difficult to really understand what the author was trying to convey. I can't believe that an editor reviewed this book.
This leads to my second observation (perhaps more important). Much of the data, analysis and suggestions were pie in the sky, without much real substance. In fact, I get the impression that the author is on the marketing end of the business because there really is a lack of depth, both to the style of writing and the substance.
Please do not buy this book. If you were duped into purchasing this book, please, I know you may be a little embarrassed (I know I was) but come out of the shadows and help stop someone else from making the same mistake!

Written from experience, reads easily and clear Feb 22, 2009
By Michael J. Santarcangelo
"Author | Speaker | Catalyst"
I appreciated the candid and logical approach to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. This was an easy read with good reach and the data that supports decentralization for all or at least a portion of user loads to meet the market demands and improving the grid.
Bowman hits the right buttons at the right time. As a consultant and builder of these systems he is not a scientist turned economist or economist turned scientist. Rather, Bowman speaks from experience; we need to listen.

An Intuitive Read Feb 19, 2009
By JSM Bowman's writing is clearly an accomplishment from one who has direct interface with the energy problems facing this world. It is intelligent, yet an easy read for "us simple minded" people. A thought provoking book on our looming energy crisis. Highly recommended!

Great work - try it! Feb 13, 2009
By Tom Murphy The book is a great read...user friendly and non partisan on power challenges without the drama. The book is littered with data points that say ultimately that power user self help is required to move forward in this economy and further. It's a book to read and give to a friend. Well done!!!
