5compelling, tense political drama  Jan 08, 2007
By Patrick J. Frape "Patrick"
I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend. It starts out with the premise that the earth is going to pass through the meteor shower of a close passing, and giant, comet. After the excitement of the initial premise, it moves somewhat slowly, for my liking anyway, in describing the initial cover-up and reaction to the news of the arriving comet. However, it soon picks up and becomes a fast-paced page-turner as you learn how people struggle to figure out, and in some cases don't figure out, how to deal with the arriving meteor shower. The characters are rich and the story hits close to home since it is an examination of how pepople behave when faced with a catastrophe - much as we may be facing with global warming, or absolutely, a huge meteor shower?

A very good read that keeps you on the edge of your seat!
