5Not a Bea Arthur biography  Oct 20, 2005
By Navy Bean "Navy Bean"
I'm a huge Golden Girls fan and my nephew got this for me for my birthday. I expected this to be a biography about Bea Arthur. Well, it's not. But the reality of it all is that this a warmhearted tale about alcoholism, spousal assault and cross dressing (the protaganist designs elaborate crucifixes). I highly recommend it. But if you like Bea Arthur, try Rue McClanahan's unauthorized autobiography for the dirt on what happened behind the scenes on the set of Golden Girls.
