The Legend of Douglas Fir: Douglas Fir & the Spirit of Christmas

A Christmas Tree reality check: How does a fir tree become a Christmas Tree? Answer: It must be cut down, and die! Little Douglas Fir is safe from being cut down in the National Forest, but he is hopelessly lonely. His only wish is to be a Sparkling Christmas Tree so he can share the joy of Christmas with all the children. He doesn't want to die, however, so he is doomed to stay in the quiet, lonely forest. With the help of a sparkling Twinkle from Santa's eye, Douglas is able to find the Christmas Spirit within him and overcome his impossible circumstances.

5Hey Douglas Fir..you're on Kindle!!  May 12, 2010

MORAL OF THE STORY: "If you can't change your circumstances, change your attitude!"
Douglas Fir is the charming child within us all. Santa helps out by enchanting Douglas' birth with a Twinkle from his eye. This delightful story challenges us to "find the Spirit within" and use it to make ourselves happy. What a wonderful way for "Children" of all ages to learn the basic principal of self-help.
If that's not enough, every page has delightful illustrations that tell the story better than the words. My 6-year-old knows the story from the pictures.
I visited "The Legend of Douglas Fir" website, and found out about "Douglas Fir Day". You can bet we are having one at our house, too, this Christmas. Where are you Douglas?!
So who the heck is "Suzanna Susquehanna"?
