The Legend of the Carousel

“The Legend of the Carousel," an illustrated children's story, tells the tale of an evil queen who wants her kingdom to be dark and dreary. So, with the help of a beleaguered servant, she sets about making it that way. Her dark and devious plot to capture a magical unicorn succeeds, and the once magnificent kingdom is transformed into a dark and depressing land. Not long after the queen dies, her beautiful and kind niece steps in as ruler of the glum-filled domain; the gloomy realm distresses her. The gracious princess soon decides to transform it back into a beautiful kingdom, so she sets her sights on beautifying the dreary land. During the flurry of activities, a beautiful horse statue is discovered, which the princess decides to add to the garden that surrounds her castle. The statue's discovery sets in motion a series of events that result in the redemption of the queen's beleaguered servant, the freeing of the long-imprisoned unicorn, and the creation of the first carousel.
