The Lost Mermaid: A Shem Creek Moonlight Jamboree

This mythical tale will enrich your child’s imagination and immerse them in Charleston’s magical low-country coastal landscape and marine life. The Lost Mermaid is a sweet story that can teach your child valuable life lessons about the danger of judging others by appearance or language. The Shem Creek sea friends have spurned Lily because of her many differences, but when the Jamboree is suddenly in imminent danger, Lily performs a magical feat that saves the day. By embracing her differences and discovering the greatness within, important lessons are learned at Shem Creek about cultural diversity that your child can learn, too, and apply throughout life’s journey.

5Valuable lessons to be learned  Jan 15, 2010
By Lil Pixie
The author has a real talent for words. Every sentence was wonderfully thought out. The story has a great message and she got it across perfectly. Our country is a real melting pot and learning to accept our differences is so important. My 11 year old grandson gave it a thumbs UP. I would recommend this book to my friends.
