A Cat Who... Dec 28, 2007
By Penelope McMillan Anyone who loves to read about cats, but has long since gotten tired of "The Cat Who..." mystery series, will like this clever and very funny story of a well-heeled but unlucky-in-love woman whose cat has the ability to turn into a dead ringer for a well-known actor, dressed in Armani. The author does a good job of making this "man" endearing as its erstwhile "owner" finds herself having to teach the cat in human form to do non-cat things, like use a fork, eat people food, and behave himself around dogs in the park. The plot moves fast in a well-integrated San Francisco setting as the relationship turns into a love story, and has a cute surprise ending only a good writer could think up.

Your basic feline metamorphosis romance Feb 13, 2008
By Peter Delacorte Alice is a San Francisco divorcee who leads a humdrum existence until the titular man enters her life. The thing is, he doesn't actually enter, and depending on one's definition he isn't exactly a man. Jacqueline Tasch handles this fine interspecies romance with wry humor and sly inventiveness. How would a man who'd spent most of his life as a cat behave at an upscale haberdashery, especially when he's the doppelganger of a well-known movie actor? How would said humanokitty deal with his first dinner party? And what's the truth behind all that nine lives business? Whether you're a cat lover or just a fan of funny, imaginative books, you should find a copy of "The Man of My Dreams."

You don't have to love cats to love this book Dec 26, 2007
By Abbie
To my intense surprise, I loved this book, starting with the gorgeous cover!
The "Man of Her Dreams" turns out to be Alice's cat. It takes an incredibly skilled and imaginative writer to make such a tale credible, especially to someone like me, who can't stand to be in the same room with a cat. They make me sneeze and wheeze. But I believed. And couldn't put the book down until I finished.
