Great book for kids!! Nov 11, 2009
By Kelly My nephew (6 years old) absolutely loves this book! It's his favorite. He wants me to read it to him all the time!! He is very interested in visiting the "Mommy Store", but he has told me that he wouldn't want to trade in his own mom. I definitely recommend it.

plagiarism? Dec 18, 2010
By Amber This book's plot seems suspiciously like a simpler version Of Nancy Brelis'"The Mummy Store",which is currently out of print. If only all of the people so enamored of "The Mommy Store" could have a chance to read this even more wonderful story which has the same moral and much nicer illustrations.
Eliminating the "H" word Jun 11, 2011
By Fran Brothers The Mommy Store is a fun book that teaches parent and child how to control anger. It's natural for a child to get upset with a parent who is setting boundries for behavior. Although my one and only child was only a preschooler, he learned how to use the word 'hate' in proper context. If he didn't like something I said or did concerning his behavior, he said, "I hate you!" I'm sure it was God who sent "The Mommy Store" to me, because I don't know how else it came into my possession! My son not only had me read the book over and over, he took it to heart, and my saying "I guess you'll just have to take me to 'The Mommy Store'" diffused many a tense moment: his being angry, and me feeling hurt that he said the "H" word! I gave that book away to another young family, but have always remembered the easy lesson it taught. Recently my child abuse prevention job calls for me to visit families with preschoolers, and I promised I would find that book again, and I did! At Amazon. So 25 years later, it's being shared with a new generation.
A wondeful read Nov 28, 2009
By Sarah A. Lavezzo This is such a wonderful book. My son enjoys the engaging storyline and imaginative pictures. This book is smart and accessible. A great book to read to your child and for your child to read on his or her own.
Great book for kids of all ages! Nov 24, 2009
By Kim Miller The Mommy store is a great book for kids for all ages. Especially great for when kids are going thru the "me, mine, I want" stage. Oliver learns a real life lesson. Thanks for writing a good book that is entertaining for parents too!
