The Pepperell Connection

Paul Barker cannot figure out why someone wants him dead. In his past life he was a nationally renowned New York City homicide detective nearly murdered from a gunshot wound to the head. Today Paul is the Chief of Police in rural Pepperell Massachusetts, a quaint bedroom community. Relocation, he figured, would sever him from all casework he was involved with and give him a new shot at life with less risk. On a cold winter morning a body shows up in the Nashua River. The problem is that the victim has the same calling card Barker seen on New York murder victims. In rapid succession Paul’s comfortable new life dissolves and he’s forced to untangle the most important riddle of his life. Is it the ‘Stickman’ from an old case or is it someone else?

Randy, it's a great, great read. Denise has had the book for awhile. I finally got to it. When is the next one coming out. Remember, "I'm a follower too.". Or is it leader?

5The Pepperell Connection - home town stomping ground!  Aug 11, 2011
By DStepehens
I loved this book, not just for the fact that it had all my home town stomping grounds in it...the SPA, Pepperell Paper Mill, Pheasant Lane Mall, but for the fact that it kept me intrigued the whole time I was reading it. There were twists and turns that I didn't expect along with some that were expected, it all kept me turning the pages. I can't wait for another book from him to come out!

Excellent story for a first time author. The characters keep you engaged and there are many surprise plot twists. I look forward to this author's next book and hope this is only the first of many.

Great story and well paced. Locations are beleable and the characters are great. I hope this is the first of a long series for the author and the "chief"!

4David Baldacci and John Sanford had better watch their backs.  Feb 02, 2009

If this is indeed Randall Meunier's first novel, it is an excellent accomplishment!
Great suspense, a few twists and turns, and throughout the book the reader is fed more and more information at just the right stages. This book was a very enjoyable read, and I can't wait for the next installment in the life of Paul Barker.
David Baldacci and John Sanford had better watch their backs.
