The Pink Magnolia (Magnolia, Book 4)

In this sequel, as Father Austin and his wife wrestle with the decision to leave First Church he finds himself embroiled in yet one more controversy. His attempt to meet the needs of those that have been rejected by their own families casts a dark cloud over First Church. The pastoral crisis faced by one of his former antagonists transforms their relationship into an endearing friendship. The book concludes with one of the most suspense filled cliffhangers yet. The reader will be left wanting yet another visit to the colorful people that call Falls City home.

5If you are married you will need two copies!  Sep 05, 2008
By Gene Holly ""Fellow Pilgrim""
A must read!! Quiet and very reserved, horribly aristocratic and yet simply just "First Church": it is the "Peyton Place of the religious world. Dennis Maynard has created a microcosm of any community be it business or social, a good sampling of humanity anywhere, with wonderful heroes and treacherous villains espousing one way of life while living another!!! You will instantly recognize all the characters from your own life, loving some and absolutely hating others.

Easy to read and yet spellbinding in the manner of John Grisham or Andrew Greeley, it is like a good serial from a Saturday afternoon matinee; you won't be able to put it down. The first book of the series, took my wife and I two days to read, because we each had to read much of it to each other, in turn. I jokingly told Dennis that it should be labeled "Harmful to Good Marriages"! By the time we got this fourth book we had to have our very own copies. My thoughts about the main character continue to vascillate. . . Can he be real?? Hmm, maybe book five will make up my mind. LOL!
