Thoughts to Ponder Mar 10, 2010
By Roger Y Tuchy Palmieri appears to have a bottomless well filled with quotations thoughts and pithy comments. His new book "The Platinum Rule and Other Contrarian Sayings - The First 60 Years" contains a diverse sampling of these thoughts. Many of Tuchy's books are directed at specific topics, problems or groups of people but, this one can be of benefit to all.
Many of these sayings like:
- Most people are satisfied with their unsatisfaction. Or;
- Just because the path is straight and narrow does not mean it's the right one for you to take. are contrarian in nature as the title indicates. These are most useful after you sit and contemplate them for awhile.
Other sayings are strait forward and obviously true:
While it is true that you can win a battle and lose the war it is equally true that you cannot
win the war without winning a battle.
Overall this is a very good collection that you can sit and contemplate and learn from.

Words to live by. Oct 26, 2009

In Tuchy Palmieri's book The Platinum Rule and Other Contrarian Sayings - The First 60 Years - Tuchy brings together another wonderful group of sayings / quotations. This collection has points to ponder, words to live by and thoughts that can be inspirational.
This work contains over 500 thoughts and sayings and the vast majority are different from those in Mr Palmieri's other books. I found the quotes/ comments to be enlightening and encouraging. There is inspiration on every page.
I feel that the book can be used to provide quick pick-me-ups for people and to provide thoughts to ponder and words of advice. I can see that this collection will be useful and inspiring to all people that are coping with life's trials and tribulations.
This is book represents Tuchy Palmieri creating literature designed to help us find the positive aspects in life.
An extremely helpful book! Jan 30, 2011
By MsJuliaT I like to consider myself a wordsmith and have written many poems and short stories and I absolutely love books like this one. There are so many interesting and true words spoken in the pages of this book, I truly enjoyed reading it from beginning to end. Words of wisdom to live by, interesting observations, I was impressed and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys getting a nice look into the thoughts of intelligent human beings. I will be referring back to this book and memorizing a few things to say that I feel merit repeating to my friends and family! I will be telling everyone where I got the phrase from, too! I give this one five stars!

By bobi I always enjoy Touchy's book because just when I think he has run out of stuff he comes out with another thought provoking book. His books are really collections of thoughts, quotes, or proverbs that have long been around yet he always puts a new twist to them. He gets the reader to think differently about even the quotes and sayings they have heard throughout their lives, and I appreciate that ability. His stuff is a little bit of everything, any day of the week you pick it up you will find something, whether it be motivational, heartwarming, inspiring, or just plain interesting.

By papi "The Platinum Rule and Other contrarian Sayings- The First 60 Years" is another quote book by Touchy covering a variety of topics and kind of all over the place and covering everyday life encounters. As always his quotes are great to sit down and read and ponder over coffee...even longer sometimes. Touchy appears to never run out of wisdom or insight and can reach the heart and mind of everyone willing to pick up the book. This one would be a great introductory to Touchy is a reader has never read a book of his because it has it all. There is organizational categorization to the book that can allow you to read on a specific topic if wanted.
