absolutely enthralling Aug 07, 2006
By M. Suzuki I found this book absolutely enthralling and could not stop reading it. I became very involved in the characters and their ideas, which are described in great detail. As I am Japanese, I do not know very much about the McCarthy era, although I have learned from text books that it was a setback to American democracy, but I was impressed by the individual ethics of the book's characters, a basic strength of U.S. democracy. Although this is basically a suspense story, there is an underlying sense of humor that I found very enjoyable.

historical suspense thriller Jul 26, 2006
By vince a dealer A great read, well written, expose on college and some of the reasons this country turns out students with warped values, instilled by professors with radical agendas.
For anyone interested in historical fiction with a more realistic look at the McCarthy era and how one student reveals
the teaching and tactics of one professor and how this threat was revealed and dealt with.

Very enjoyable read... Jul 27, 2006
By C. Mead I very much enjoyed "The Professor". It has a very real-life feel to it, but was suspenseful, interesting, with good closure at the end. The story starts a little slow, but builds quickly with plenty of cloak and dagger intrigue. Add a ton of thought provoking political and social situations, and you find yourself taking a second look at America and where we're headed. I loved it and would highly recommend this book.

Reality under the guise of exciting fiction Jul 27, 2006
By William F. Lott The Professor is an enjoyable read. The storyline is very plausible and could easily have been an account of a real series of events. It is written is a clear, direct style, with good background, but not to the level of bogging down the story. My wife enjoyed it as much as I did. It's well worth the time.

Huge Fan!! Jul 26, 2006
By Marcia G. Jespersen Extremely realistic, fast-paced mystery novel. Seems like it really could have happened. Weaves a fascinating tale about an intelligent college senior returning from the service in WWII who becomes involved in a communist "evolution" that spans a lifetime and involves technology, clues, corruption, murder and intrigue. Historical, yet timely. I loved it!!!
