The Raving Eunuch Monks: Schopenhauer International Literary Award recipient

Gil McNeil wants to become a caring, sensitive, spiritual being. He wants a loving soul mate with whom to share life’s journey; to be surrounded by friends who trust and respect him. Gil wants to be an authentic human being living a meaningful, purposeful life. These wants constitute the mantra he feeds on. Gil McNeil is a liar. In the first installment of Glynn Thompson’s trilogy “The Raving Eunuch Monks” Gil moves from one deceitful moment to another finally arriving at an instant in which he briefly senses how dangerous he has been to those he cared about and just how much he did care for them. It is a profound instant, but short of an epiphany. Gil moves on, leaving Lubbock in an attempt to construct a fresh start. He leaves behind a failed marriage, an abandoned son, damaged friendships, and shattered souls. He carries with him a sense that he is not entirely to blame for the disaster that was Lubbock, a piece of baggage that will drive him into the dirt.

5An amazing saga  Apr 01, 2007
By Arron C. Jenkins
I can't stop thinking about this book: the characters, issues, observations, insanities, delusions, illusions...Thompson's Gil McNeil doesn't ask why people believe what they believe. Instead, he obsesses over how people can possibly believe the things they believe. It's a maddening obsession.
Thompson introduces the reader to The Tolerance Sum, Poontheria, Unicorn trapping, Dougianism, Sperm Blindness, The Jerry Bible, Dolphin recipes, the Divine Abracadabra, Coprophagy, Referential Therapy, The Oral Roberts Full Armor of God Evangelical Locked and Loaded Crusaders for Christ Bible College, and a host of other marvelous interpretations of the events taking place around his befuddled characters.

5The book that changed everything.  Apr 14, 2007
By Dylan Reed
I thought modern literature was all but dead, and then this Raving Eunuch Monk book comes along. Is it real or fiction? I don't care because it is completely enthrawling. I find myself in certain situations around town and all of a sudden I say "What would Gil do?" I have not been able to stop thinking about this book since I finished days ago. Mr. Thompson is either a genius or a complete lunatic, I don't know. It is very easy to get sucked into these characters and their lives. If you read one book this year, make it this one!! Mr. Thompson, your book made me question alot of things about life, and I thank you for that.
