Very Informative Book!!! Nov 07, 2009
By A. Jones This is a very interesting and totally informative book! I heard about this book on a radio show while traveling and my interested was peaked. So I purchased this book and everything made so much sense and it was almost like looking at myself in a mirror. I noticed some of my mistakes and often heard comments written in this book from my ex husband. I only felt that he was just very insecure and intimidated of my new success. I just never created space for him to fit in my new degree and job and killed his ego. I am one of those independent women who will tell a man to Grow-up and be a real man. If I'm honest, I have not had much success in my relationships.
What struck me first was the topic "Are You Ready For Mr. Right and Sisterhood Peer Pressure." These topics had my name written all over it and yes, I use to piss my ex husband and other men off all the time. I was a little angry about the difference between Black Women and White Women in the book. I don't take anyone words on a subject so I performed my own test with friends and colleagues. My girlfriends failed miserably or at lease responded just like in the book. Do we all see our relationships through material things and status? The research seems solid based on my tests.
To my independent Black sisters, if you love Black men as I do, this is a must-read book but keep an open mind. The rules in this book are different than Steve Harvey's book especially the 90 days rule and the way you ask questions. I tested his theories on my male friends and two brothers; they agreed with this book 100%. I guess it is true that Black men are different as I now discovered. I am recommending this book for discussing in my book club and can't wait for the dialogue.

Very Informative book Jul 03, 2010
By faithtofaith76 This book reads differently than other books based on the perspectives of men. It was very honest and it allowed me to gain some clarification of the signals I sent men unknowingly. Kudos to Mr. Turner!!!!

By Tina Williams Wow, I love this book! I actually could not put it down. Your information created several light bulb moments for me and the best book on Black men and relationship I've ever read period. That is saying a lot coming from me. So hats off to you for clearing a few things up for me. I also love your blog.
