The Rebel Job: Revised Edition

Our world is fascinating, but life on this planet is not easy. For many the Book of Job contains the message, which we need to deal with the realities of this life. But who can understand the Book of Job? The Rebel Job is the poem that was buried, by the “righteous,” in the Book of Job. The Rebel Job deals with suffering without resorting to fantasy. He was too radical for his “righteous friends,” who believed in an all-powerful God, who demanded fear. For the rebel this God did not exist. The rebel has given us a great gift.

5there is no justice  Jul 31, 2010
the book of job cannot be read as one book. there are at least four major voices. fisher successfully conveys this. the rebel job disagrees with the other voices of job. the more ancient version of job beleives that if you suffer then you must have sinned, but the rebel job says this is not the case. good and bad things happen to all people, and frankly, the bad people are doing just fine. there is no justice. what we need to do in the midst of chaos and suffering is care for each other. love is the answer. for the first time in centuries, the book of job is assembled in a way that makes sense. beautifuly translated!
