The Return...not your average book!! Recommended! Nov 16, 2010
By H. C. Dawson I took my time reading "The Return." This book was unlike any other book that I've read, and this is a good thing. It was certainly a unique & gripping story that did not end in a way I would have guessed. The formula of having one central character is not followed, and that is refreshing. The actual story of "The Return" IS the central character, and the story is told by describing several key characters that help bring the story and the event alive. The author takes great strides providing insight and inserting you as the reader into the lives of several of the characters that shape the story. As a result, you get to view the story from multiple angles, several points of view, and last but not least, different cultural perspectives. The story definitely has a soft spot in my heart, as much of it takes place on the wonderful island of Contadora, located 35 miles off the coast of Panama in the Pacific, where my family had a vacation home and I spent many summer vacations, Christmas and Easter holidays, and long weekends as a child enjoying the tropical paradise. The island itself was an inspiration to the author and deservingly so. The book does center around a religious theme, but so did the Davinci Code and Angels & Demons. That being said, I highly recommend the book if you enjoy a refreshingly unique plot, multiple around the world settings, such as the aforementioned Contadora Island, the Vatican, Israel, and Columbia. I can't wait for the movie!!!!

The Return Aug 13, 2010
By Isabella Hale The Return had an unusual and mysterious plot line to it,, and if you have not read it,, I won't reveal the story plot line. The story is very unique as Gail writes in depth about her sophisticated globe trotting beautiful people interact all around the world focussing on Panama and Rome.
I would highly recommend taking The Return to the beach as one needs uninterupted time to tie together all the
thrilling and intricate plot that in the Return. Highly sophisticated and worldly scenes as well as some deep psychological and philosophical insights are offered by Gail McNally in her maiden book. She draws from her own life and travel experiences as she frankly explains in her prologue
Enjoy!

A gripping movie in a novel! Oct 26, 2009
By Robert D. Penwell I loved it! AN ingenious plot with stunning locales in a detail that I could "feel"; characters that were "visible" and life-like! Bring on the cameras! This is a gripping story and is ready for the screen! Great read and my compliments to the author - Bravo!!!

A must read! Oct 22, 2009
By Eileen A. Detweiler I've always enjoyed many types of novels but one of my favorites has always been Christian fiction. So when I heard about 'The Return' I was anxious to read about its unique plot. I'm happy to say I was not disappointed. The story evolves with carefully thought out characters, all unique personalities with a common goal. Although the idea of the Catholic Church staging a fake return of Christ may appear dishonest and self serving before reading the book, Gail McNally convinces the reader that it is truly God driven. 'The Return' will leave you with a lot of thought provoking questions and "what if's..." That for me is what defines a good book!

A Tutorial On Excitement and Faith Aug 17, 2009
By Michael C. Del Colliano
"Rex Beach"
Gail Dawson McNally has created an astonishly good book on two of the most difficult topics in the world for a novelist: Religion and love.
Her wonderful narrative keeps the reader stuck like glue to her characters and how they pass thorugh this life.
McNally's ability to even think of bringing back Christ to help heal the world is a remarkable achievement.
When you buy this book, set aside plenty of time for it. It will keep you up until the wee hours, as it did me.
