The Roswell Protocols

Inside the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, an object is detected on radar rapidly descending to earth. Just moments before impact, it vanishes, crash landing somewhere other than originally predicted. Where? No one knows. But the ripple effects are felt worldwide. In a mountain chalet, an innocent children's book author is about to be frightened to the very core of her soul. In the Kremlin, a war hero is once again summoned to serve his country. In Japan, a determined general sets a daring plan into motion. In California, an expert in kinesics, the science of body movement, is about to be put to the test. In Canada, the RAF takes to the skies. In Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, an order is given-Initiate the Roswell Protocols. And somewhere, on a crashed alien vessel, something stirs. The race is on. A covert battle for the possession of advanced technology has begun. The winning country will be the sole superpower on the planet. But are any of them truly prepared for what they'll find . . .

5Roswell Protocols  Jul 07, 2009

This was the perfect summer reading kindle book. It held my interest and had just the right level of suspense. Action packed with a sci-fi twist, nevertheless intriguing. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

5I COULDN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!!  Jul 02, 2009

The Roswell Protocols
I really enjoyed this book! Once I started reading I couldn't put it down! A great read for anyone who enjoys being completely absorbed in a fast-paced, thrilling adventure. I really wanted to find out where the story took me, but I didn't want it to end. And at the end, I was completely satisfied!

4An excellent way to spend a few hours for someone looking for fine brain candy  Sep 28, 2010
By Jeff Edwards "RadioJeff"
As I read other reviews regarding The Roswell Protocols, I noticed I wasn't the only person who noticed that the character development wasn't exactly as High Tech as the storyline--however, I am (apparently) in the minority when it comes to MY personal view of character development anyway. I MUCH prefer a novel to be Story-Driven rather than Character-Driven. I cite the books of Matthew Reilly as an example of what I find entertaining. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy good character development as much as anyone--and it wasn't exactly absent here, just not super developed--but I don't believe its necessary in order for a book to be an absolutely absorbing and fun read. This book is one such classic example.

The Roswell Protocols brings up one of my favorite genre's to read--and NO, I don't mean sci-fi--I'm talking about the good old, 'What If' scenario...and here its doosey: What IF an alien spacecraft--noticed by multiple nations at once--crash landed on earth. Of COURSE we would want to get to it first, but What IF it were a race, and as we all know in the REAL world, there just aren't any prizes for second place. 'The Roswell Protocols' were specifically set up to be placed into motion for just such an event, and THIS IS IT.

The action is plenty, the adventure is real and the entertainment is HIGH...in fact I normally would give this a full 5 stars, but I believe that we haven't seen the last of Allan Burd, and I am therefore reserving that fifth star for what will surely be a slam-bang follow-up...or at least I am HOPING for another book, whether a direct sequel or a stand-alone I don't really care. I rarely give out 5 stars for first novels believing that by doing so I don't really allow for much growth...where does an author go from there? (I admit that I USED to do it, but haven't for quite some time) For those looking for a perfect summer 'Beach Read' that I like to refer to as Fine Brain Candy, I submit that you cannot go wrong with a copy of 'The Roswell Protocols'.

I anxiously look forward to what comes next from Mr. Burd. Well done!

3Great story; writng style needs improvement  Aug 19, 2009
By Michael C "Mike C"
This was a fun read, and hard to put down. the story itself was also very entertaining. i would have given it 3.5 stars if Amazon supported that - but since i had to choose either 3 or 4, i think 3 is where this ends up - mainly due to the writing style (which is distracting rather than immersive) and the one-dimensional charcters. Still - its a good book, and I hope Mr. Burd writes more.
