4Fantasy at it's best  Aug 10, 2011
By Penny Brien
This book is the introduction to the series and as such is a wonderful introduction to several very interesting characters. The author has an amazing imagination and her characters are believable even in the otherworldly environment in which they are cast.

I enjoyed the fast pace of this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy. It is geared for the young adult but I was enthralled with the story and read the entire book in one sitting. I look forward to the other books in this series to find out what happens to Sara and her friends while they try to regain the balance of good over evil.

My only complaint about the book would be in the typographical errors, which did tend to distract from the flow of the book.

5A Hero's Journey  Nov 30, 2011
By Rebecca H. "rebecca"
Sara lives with a wealthy foster family that neither feeds her, nor gives her adequately warm sleeping accommodations. Despite her daily misfortunes, she manages to be successful in school and is kind to the people around her, whether or not they deserve it. When she falls into a different world, she learns that she is gifted and that her destiny is to use her gifts in conjunction with two others who she will meet on her way, to destro they evil Garren. The pace of the book is relatively fast, and Sara learns to appreciate her innate abilities as she struggles with obstacles along the way. This is a great book choice for Harry Potter or Narnia lovers. The series looks promising, and I can't wait to read more.

5Evil VS Good  Nov 14, 2011
By martins4unc
The Sarah Chronicles The Beginning Book 1 is a great introduction to the series of books. The book features three children Sara, James, and Thomas who lead the fight against evil. They all have special powers and they are just beginning to learn how to use them. The story takes them on a journey to find the Healing stone which will help them win the fight against the evil Garren. They need the stone to heal Olin the leader of the good. They all combine there powers in the final great war of good vs evil. Will good prevail? Very entertaining book and easy to read. I look forward to the next one.

4Fun Exciting Read  Oct 23, 2011
By Nicki
The Sara Chronicles is an enchanting book about one girl's journey to save a secret world from the ever-spreading evil. Reminiscent of Harry Potter, the book is full of action, adventure, and excitement. I quite enjoyed reading the novel. It was wonderfully written with both an exciting plot full of ogres, witches, and loveable characters like Sara and her friends. I would recommend this book for young adults who loves fantasy and adventure.

5The Sara Chronicles-The beginning Book1  Oct 10, 2011
By S. Benson "violetb"
The Sara Chronicles-The Beginning by Laura Hughes transports you into a fantasy world with the war between good and evil. This is an excellent read that is geared toward the middle schooler. Sara is Hughes' answer to Harry Potter. Sarah is also an orphan raised by tyrannical parents and overweight step-siblings. She is whisked to another world where along with her two sidekicks must save the world from evil. It's a fun read but on a more serious note allows the reader to see that good triumphs over evil and what goes around comes around. "Things do even out in the end."

The only criticism I have of the book is that the font is difficult to read.
