Ok...but limited perspective Jun 03, 2008 The author puts forth a theory of the Universe and its origins. He then ties it in to the concept of soulmates. Yet...the book is written from a dualistic perspective and a limited consciousness so I was a bit disappointed. The author first posits a theory of two Gods to account for the feminine and masculine principle...the yin/yang....or active, ascending, transcending Father principle and the descending, passive, nourishing Mother principle. From a higher level of conscious Realization it becomes apparent that these two principles of Father and Mother are expressed by the ONE SOURCE...not two Gods. It is also very obvious to someone at a higher stage of Realization that the Universe if by no means Unconscious as the author speculates. Direct Realization and Experience of the ONE reveals beyond doubt that the Higher Source of ALL is Super Super Indescribably Conscious!! Also...I did not see anything in the book about the anima/animus archetypal duality posited by Jung. These are the contra sexual opposites in each psyche. I believe that the Soul Mate theory is based upon people's unconscious projection of their own anima/animus onto the other. This is how Jung taught it also. We are all looking for our perfect 1/2...but the other half we are looking for is within our own psyche. So a person would need to be Awakened and Integrated to realize this. A man awakens his ability to nourish himself and experience feelings and relationships...a woman integrates her ability to be assertive, to manifest and transcend. Who knows...maybe Twin Souls do exist...but as long as you're looking for your "perfect" half outside of yourself...you rob yourself of the opportunity to make the contrasexual archetype conscious and integrated in your own being...and your own Awakened wholeness will be delayed. You will go from broken heart to broken heart while accumulating karma along the way. I didn't intend to dump on the book itself...which is well written and does contain some useful information.

my reveiw Apr 28, 2008 pretty great... tackled questions i could not find tackled elsewhere... though i think the author had a conclusion in mind before reaching the actual conclusion through trial and error... this book is more of a series of conclusions and facts as opposed to scientific experiements... still i thought it was great, inspiring, and offeres direction... good luck... and lots of luv >grimgeek

Review by best selling author Jul 27, 2005 After my first child was born a number of years ago, I remember asking my father - a university trained physicist and chemist - at what point during the nine-month gestation period and his ultimate birth did my son "acquire" a soul. While both my father and I shared the same belief that this newborn baby did indeed possess a soul, neither of us could come up with a satisfactory answer as to when he had come by it.
In his book "The Science of Soulmates, the Direct Path to the Ultimate", author William Henderson purports to know. The soul, he says, is unique to all living creatures that dream, which includes mammals and birds as well as babies in the womb. Scientists have proven, Henderson says, that unborn babies begin to dream during the last two months before birth. Therefore, the soul arrives at about that time.
Henderson's book tackles a number of other, equally compelling questions: Why does the universe exist? Was the evolution of homo sapiens a random accident or did it happen by design? Is there a reason for human suffering?
Chapter by chapter Henderson examines the common themes at the heart of every spiritual search and explains why recent discoveries in physics, medicine, psychology and other scientific fields serve to confirm the existence of what he calls the Ultimate Being.
The path to the ultimate, Henderson believes, involves the search for human selfhood and the ability to experience God, or the Ultimate Being, through the heightening of consciousness. Using techniques similar to transcendental meditation or deep breathing relaxation exercises, Henderson urges readers to "still their minds," which, when practiced often enough, will eventually lead to the achievement of a higher state of consciousness, described by some as "cosmic consciousness" - becoming one with the spiritual plane of the universe.
As for the purpose of the universe? Henderson's own exhaustive research, both scientific and spiritual, has led him to believe that the love between a man and a woman - the soulmates of the book's title - gives meaning to our journey though life.
While Henderson's arguments will probably not be decisive enough to convince non-believers to change their way of thinking, his fair-minded treatment and readable text provide ample opportunities for grappling with humankind's most difficult questions.

Review from Awareness Magazine by Dr Maryel McKinley Apr 29, 2004 William Henderson's "The Science of Soulmates" is by far the most outstanding piece of work I have read in the genré of soul-mates. Henderson literally takes off where Redfield's Celestine Prophecy ended, exploring some of the most challenging studies on life and love I have seen. This intense, thorough and scholarly work is not for the faint of heart, yet at the same time, it is constructed in such a way that it is an understandable read even to the newest metaphysicians and self-searchers. At the beginning of the book, Henderson brings to light his amazing theory on the creation of the universe - which I found intriguing and very palatable. He believes the world was created by not one, but two distinct forces - male and female. This is the basic premise from which he describes his outstanding research on soulmates and how we come together to create one unified being to fulfill our individual and collective purposes. I love the following quote: "If the Ultimate Beings are two, then we must evolve in twos. That is, we journey through lifetimes always connected to one another. If the story of existence is the ultimate Woman and the ultimate Man desperately trying to awaken and find one another, this must also be our story." What further impresses me about "The Science of Soulmates" is that Henderson does not take the term "science" lightly. He is obviously well read and has formulated his hypothesis in a true, scientific manner. Henderson has left no stone unturned in "The Science of Soulmates," making it an informative and extremely well-researched masterpiece. I highly recommend this book to everyone, whether you have found your soulmate or not!

A theory that fits exactly Apr 26, 2004 Well, I'm not much into soulmate books, but my girlfriend handed this one to me and its the first thing I've read that is backed up, and it makes sense. It seems a real thing.
