Everyone who has sold a house has wondered why part of the proceeds should be paid as a commission to a real estate agent. The reason, of course, is that you're paying for professional assistance. In a series of concise sections, it discusses all that's involved in advertising, staging, showing, negotiating the details, doing the paperwork, and actually closing the sale. In the process of learning all of these details, you'll come the the answer to the most important question of all: Should you even try to sell your house yourself?
If you decide you should, the important things you need to think about are here. If you decide you'd rather deal with an agent, this is still a valuable book, because it explains things your agent or the buyer's agent might prefer you not know much about.
The author is an experienced real estate broker who also does a syndicated radio show about real estate issues. She's very good at clarifying the mysteries of the business of selling houses. This book is a thorough, practical guide that could save you many thousands of dollars.

Juli does an excellent job in The Secrets of Exactly How to For Sale By Owner priming you to choose between retaining a professional real estate agent or going it on your own.
If you choose to hire a Realtor, Juli offers some hard-nosed thoughts to consider each step of the collaborative way.
If you choose to FSBO, Juli gives you lots of those "tips" that Realtors should do for you (and many don't) to sell your house pronto.
Get this book if you're planning to sell your house...
