The Sixteenth Way: Healing Emotional Pain by Raising Your Consciousness Apr 10, 2011
By Momof2 I found this book to be accessible in its subject matter and diction. I enjoyed the clinical examples given, as well as the author's acknowledgement that his attitude and spiritual journey has an impact on him as well as his patients. I think this book is very encouraging and enriching for those trying to improve their immediate world - the here and now ... and the after. I am passing mine along to several friends, so it is worth sharing.

Full of hope and interesting new ideas Dec 31, 2009

Dr Hayes has written a piece which I find very interesting in the respect that it provides anecdotal information, combined with his unique approach to treatment/therapy and life enhancement, in a format and verbage that's nicely understandable and accessible to the average reader as well as the trained clinician. While I got a lot of useful info out of it, it was a pleasant and breezy read.

An interesting perspective on consciousness Nov 09, 2009

I have had the opportunity to meet the author. He is an unassumming, affable gentleman. He built a book around twenty two interesting, instructive cases he has encountered that expanded his own consciousness. He uses cases; especially those that involve emotional trauma and abuse to demonstrate healing that occurs when new awareness/consciousness is added in the present to past events. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and felt compelled to attempt to finish it in one reading! However, the author was correct; it does make you think and at times grin at the humor injected. The book covered a lot of territory and explained the dynamics of anxiety and depression in a way that actually makes sense. His examples of what can happen when you put yourself, 'in the moment' make for interesting reading. He gives credit for success to something 'bigger than himself' working through him. His explanation of consciousness as increased awareness opened some new doors for me. I do not ever think I will think of anxiety or confusion the same way again!
