Let Down Nov 15, 2009
By S. D. Hargrave On several occasions I visited Storm Cat at Overbook Farm so I was looking forward to this book. It (the book), was a letdown. The story was ok, however, it is terribly overpriced: $19.99 (on Amazon) for what turned out to be a soft-cover, larger print, 48 page book. It would have worked better as an article in a trade publication like The Blood-Horse. It could also have used a competent editor as there are numerous misspelled words and typos. I bought the book online. Had I seen it in a bookstore and been able to examine the it, I would have put it back on the shelf. With better editing and a much more reasonable price I would likely have enjoyed it.
Recommendation: wait for it to hit the discount table.

Nice try, but no go Dec 07, 2009
By Linda B. Mccollum

This book is a short one written by Storm Cat's race track groom. Price is not a particularly good writer, and offers no real insight on a horse that has become one of the greatest living Thoroughbred stallions. His race career was short, due to injury mainly, but we see little of the joys of his wins or the disappointments of his losses. I was hoping for more than this book provided.

Not What I Expected Nov 08, 2009
By Ruffian The book did not contain the specifics of the breeding of Storm Cat. It was simply an account of the experience of the gentleman who was the groom to Storm Cat and his experiences. I was under the impression that it would be more about the history of Storm Cat. Disappointing.

Save your $... Jan 14, 2011
By Denise D. Hallbert
"Denise D."
$5 would be too much to pay for this uninspired, dredfully poor quality publication. I follow horse racing & usually enjoy a more personal look at the individual animal athletes as well as the people involved in their lives & stories. I also expect photos strategically presented to add an interesting visual dimension to the written words. The photos were examples of poor reproduction with respect to clarity, color, & many oddly cropped. I could not have been more disappointed in the entire "book."
