A Must Read Mar 10, 2008
By jamie This book was recommended to me by a friend and I loved it! A touching account of the power of a mother's love and her son's struggle in dealing with her death while searching for answer's to his own life's purpose. An enjoyable yet heart-wrenching read, Ganious takes us on a journey moving from the present to the past in a fluid and entertaining manner. I found myself laughing out loud at stories from his childhood, while others left me in tears from the rawness of his honesty. As a mother to a young son, I connected deeply with the relationship between him and his mother and the love he had for her. A truly very inspiring story, I highly recommend this book.
The purpose of life? - The Third Rail Nov 12, 2007
By Troy Titus- Adams This book will make you laugh, make you cry and in parts anger you. It will make you question the relevance of your existence and the role you play in "life". It's a truly enlightening, heartwarming, heartwrenching, brutally honest account of one man's journey to answer the above. Make no mistake that this is no "woe is me" memoir this is love, hope and unrelenting faith on paper.
The author blesses us with his memoirs. After page one you are drawn into the author's flow and whisked, spun and spat out into a world that does not pull any punches. It's a daring read. Unbelievably honest, you can't help but feel like you are intruding on something which is almost too personal, but that does not stop you from turning the pages until the very end and wanting to read more.

By Mercureal Ganious takes me on a journey through the evolution of a boy, a son and a man. Throughout the book, he depicts the bitter pain and sorrow of growing up in NY. Simultaneously, he reflects lessons learned as sweet and priceless. Scars and wounds that he touches gentlely and carefully guides the reader through his past. Finally he emerges through has a stronger individual that appreciates his beautiful life. As commonly said, "Only through losing it all. Does one learns to appreciate one has." His writing is exciting. It tickles the readers' brain with all senses of touch, smell, sounds, taste and sight of his memories. I certainly appreciate his extension of himself to us.

The Third Rail is a book that makes you feel as if you are in Ganious' world, in his head and in his heart. I cannot imagine going through what he went through as a child and then as a man. I found myself yelling at the "book" when one of his friends did something stupid. Holding my breath when Ganious (the boy) questions his mother's next step. And then holding back tears during those last mother-son moments. I applaud his honesty and his ability to pull the reader into his life. Buy it.Read it. Then read it again. You'll love it just like I do.
