The Thirteenth Disciple

Adrift on a raft carried by ocean currents to the shores of Morocco, the Mayan boy Yax, is sustained by a re-occurring dream. "Find the son of Kukulcan, God of the Universe, when anointed with his blood, you will be crowned King of the Quiche Maya Tribe." The year is 5 AD. Sold to a slave caravan enroute to Carthage, he is eventually purchased by the Emperor Tiberius. Imprisoned by his enemy Aelius Sejanus, he escapes death in the gladiator amphitheatre and flees to Judea. Is baptized by John the Baptist, learns of a new Son of God, is crucified by Pontius Pilate on the cross next to Jesus. He is anointed with His blood from a centurion's sword, who has just pierced the side of Jesus and his quest is fulfilled. The last chapter, in the year 2005, provides a stunning conclusion to this historical epic.
