Events can determine life's path Apr 23, 2007 Why are you the way you are now? How much of your life is determined by "coincidence", or what some might call fate? What events and people in your past have created your worldview today, i.e. what you call "reality"? "The Touch of Life" by Ike Andrews takes us on that journey of life for one man - Mike Burke. The novel is set in a pseudo-fictional town in Wisconsin called Grand Locks. Burke moves to this town, carrying baggage from his past, to teach German at a small university. There he becomes involved with the game of rugby - a rough game that is really about the camaraderie with one's team mates. The game provides a vehicle to the unfolding of life-changing events in Burke's life. The author develops believable, real-life characters - folks the reader really come to understand and care about. He weaves these characters and events in a fast-paced journey of love, death, tragedy and a hope that comes through faith. Well worth the read!
