Reminds me of Nostradamus Jan 24, 2009
By Jerry W. Barrington
"avid sci-fi fan"
From the main review: "How can we authenticate their assertion that God exists? Simple: by examining their information."
I skimmed this books through Amazon's "Surprise Me" button. Lots of summary of actual science. Very brief connection to Indian spirituality. Like the people who "demonstrate" that Nostradamus was psychic, You have to accept some really broad interpretation for the connection to work. So broad that it's meaningless.
Also, the title of the book and that quote from the review mention "God", which most will take to mean the Christian God, not just some sort of spirituality. That's an important difference. Apparently Amazon agrees, as "christianity" is the 1st recommended tag.
This book won't end any debates.
Simply superb! May 01, 2009
By Prof. J. Peters I have read Capra's book The Tao of physics which is good. But Patel's book is quite literally out of this world! His style is academic, but accessible. And he quotes from the original ancient Sanskrit passages and gives all his sources.
My favorite parallel out of the 200 or so he describes is about our Sun. He shows that the ancients believed our Sun will expand 100-fold after about 7 billion years. The expanded Sun will engulf and melt our earth. This ancient description runs extremely closely to modern scientific theory. It's mind-blowing!

The Undeniable Evidence for God May 05, 2009
By J. Chapman This is a very thought provoking book. The parallels Sanjay Patel describes between ancient Yoga literature and modern day scientific fact and theory are very persuasive. If you can tolerate Sanjay's ego for the first few chapters, the effort will be well rewarded. He soon moves away from the self-praising of his research, into the actual findings of his research. And it is these findings that challenge our traditional beliefs regarding space, time, creation and the purpose of life. I feel even sceptics would sit up and take notice, should they ever feel inclined to read this book.

Undeniable discoveries! Apr 19, 2009
By Paul Woods I read the first edition of this book and it was just great. But I don't know where to start with this review - there's so much brilliant about it. Foremost, for those who haven't read the first book, its authentic. You may not agree with the author's conclusions, but the parallels he describes are real and astonishing. There are more than TWO HUNDRED PARALLELS.
Secondly, there are real ramifications for orthodox Christianity. The description of the flood and worldwide extinction in Genesis are allegories and have parallels with the ancient Yoga Literature of India. Except that the Indian descriptions are in far more detail and explicitly describe it all as happening millions of years ago. The Indian literature describes the worldwide flooding and extinction of life as happening between 420 - 120 million years ago!
This places it encompassing the era surrounding the famous end-Permian extinction and flooding of the continents with epeiric seas! There are also another FIFTEEN remarkable parallels of the end-Permian extinction described in the ancient Yoga Literature. The description of Noah's flood and worldwide extinction, it seems, is an 'event' that occurred 420 - 120 million years ago according to the ancient Indians. The timeframe and descriptions (of concurrent volcanic activity) are scientifically correct. That is undeniable.
But the author doesn't ram it down your throat. He's very open-minded. Read the book. It's superb!

A brilliant book. The first of its kind ! Apr 16, 2009
By Amy Thomas This book is a blessing for all spiritual traditions! The route it takes is strong, but still indirect.
Patel contends that the belief of ancient mystics - that God exists - can be authenticated by viewing other statements they made about our earth and universe. Their observations are correct, he shows. This means that the stuff they said about God must be true, too. 200 parallels with modern science and cosmology can't be coincidental. They could only have come through genuine spiritual discovery, says the author.
The cosmological passages are bequeathed by Indian and Hebrew mystics. They also describe more than 20 mathematical details that agree with modern science. THis is a very difficult achievement.
Some people may say its all a remarkable coincidence. Some will say it can't be. But I think almost everyone will agree that the parallels are remarkable, by chance or not.
....But who is this guy, Sanjay? Why haven't we heard of him before? He dwarfs the likes of Deepak Chopra and others. This guy is a giant. Perhaps his time has not yet come.
