not a good book at all Nov 16, 2009 save your reading time for a better book, don't waste your $$$ on this one...
wonderful book series Sep 10, 2009 the book started out a little disappointing with every character dying after you got to know them but shortly into the book you realize that there is so much more. the numerous characters can be hard to follow at times but you get attached and hooked into reading further. i would definately read these series over again. cant wait til the next book comes out in october 2009.

REALLY?????I didnt like it at all Sep 08, 2009 OK so i read the previous reviews on this before i purchased book 1 and 2 and i thought sounds good. I tried to make myself read it but i couldnt get into it, every other line says for ex: bob said hi to trina. trina purchased french fries and talked to bob, bob and trina looked at mike, mike said hello. Those are not exact lines but you get the point. I really didnt like it and couldnt get past the first 4 chapters. If you want something you can really get into try City of Glass, Sookie Stackhouse or Vampire Academy.

Interesting Apr 17, 2009 I liked it enough. I thought the story was interesting and it played out well enough for me to buy the second one. I'll let you know how that one goes.

Reeled me in--eventually Mar 12, 2009 I have to admit that I put this book down 2 or 3 times with the thought of not finishing. The beginning is a bit slow. Perhaps my expectations were pretty high based on the reviews the series has gotten and I didn't feel the first hundred pages or so were working for me. I have to admit that I don't remember this happening to me before but after I put it down (for good, I thought) before finishing, I found myself continuing to think about it and wonder what was going to happen. Actually, I thought the first third was accomplishing little other than putting random people together in different situations. And it didn't help any that much of the action was transpiring in a football milieu--as I'm not a fan. In any event, I was having a difficult time discerning a common thread.
However, after about a hundred pages, it grabbed me by both sides of my shirt collar and slapped me twice. I was hopelessly addicted and, of course, could not devour it with sufficient speed. I now have the other two in the trilogy on my bedside table which will also, at some point in the not too distant future, be consumed as the bon bons I suspect they are.
It's true that vampire fiction is one of my great guilty pleasures. Well, at least good vampire fiction. And although I prefer such fiction with a little more sensuality and less brutality, this did not hinder me from embracing the fun. Tres recommended.
