5Corruption Exposed  Jun 10, 2010
By Lense Monkey "John"
If you want to learn a little of what goes on behind the veil of religious institutions, primarily the Catholic Church in Miami, this book is for you.

The book is a good and quick read. Despite the fictitious matter of murder, the underlying story of corruption and deceit within the Church is something being made more and more evident in today's age. The book shows great depth of detail regarding the Archdiocese of Miami, its financial workings, and self interested manipulations. The insight of the author enriches the experience with a great blend of fiction and non-fiction. Highly Recommended.

5A fast enjoyable read that provides real insight into the finances of the Catholic Church and human behavior.  Apr 08, 2010
By Lucila T
While primarily based on a true story, the writer tells his tale in such a way that you can't help but learn from it while all the while blissfully immersed in the story being spun. A neat trick when it is done correctly and Blake nails it.

3Miami Archdiocese: Priest Salaries and Collection Baskets  Dec 11, 2009
By Peter P. Fuchs
I have the distinction of having been sent this opus by its author I believe. But since the avowed author is represented by a pseudonym for a member of the Roman Catholic clergy in Miami, the identity cannot be known for sure. And clearly the author wants it that way. It seems to be a story of a particular priest in the Archdiocese whose story you can reach by Googling "Miami Priest Deacon guilty of Embezzlement." But since there is a thick wall of anonymity intrinsic to the book itself surely one can only speculate. Perhaps the only person who would know is the current Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Miami Michael Souckar, but because of his position he unlikely to speak candidly about it. I am sure the Archdiocese is not happy about this book. The Archbishop is portrayed as a luxury-loving guy with fancy boys around. The famously low salaries of priests are used as an explanation for financial corruption by Pastors especially. the pastors of parishes especially are portrayed as corrupt kings of little kingdoms. One can only hope that the level of dalliance with moral impropriety is instructive. But even more instructive of the following matter. If such anonymously produced books are going to reach an audience of people in the know about the very sorts of people described then the leaders of this compromised organization should watch out.
