"The book is fantastic I am reading it rather slow so that I can figure everything out and I am praying while reading it so it is helping a lot. There are so many things I wasn't aware of and I am glad I am getting to understand them now. One of the things was the importance of the water baptism. I mean I know that water baptism is important however I grew up in a religion that preaches and practices infant baptism-sprinkling water on the infant's head- and considering that to be enough. In addition, in our teens we are encouraged to be confirmed so after baptism and confirmation everything is fine... well I am reading chapter 4 at the moment and I have an open mind. However there are so many things I have to consider at the moment, but I am glad I have your book, I had a few questions in mind but I am finding that the more I read, the more the questions are answered and new questions arise. I am going to write them down and send the outstanding ones when I have finished reading the book...By the way, I am still reading your book, it is great"

Dear Mr. McQuick:
We have read your manuscript...
The "Voice of Him the Crieth in the Wilderness: A Voice Crying in the Wilderness of Our Denominations and Religions" uses a "specific theological method" combining scriptural interpretation and personal observation. As the title suggests, you take a look at the relative complexities of spirituality as it might occur in a sometimes-uncertain modern society. You aim for the "professing Christian and anyone who really desires to be assured salvation," using a generally straightforward approach in an effort to create a thorough yet accessible overview.
Arranging the volume around questions starting with "What is Faith?" you point to "doctrinal anarchy" as "one of the worst results" of what you see as the tendency not to teach "biblical truths." Given your idea that faith involves "obedience to the Word of God," you note, "Most people are enticed by the good news about salvation" but perhaps may remain unschooled in terms of "how to get it." For you, "salvation involves the recognition of and relationship with a higher source of being than oneself, in order to escape the `hell' of one's environment at present and thereafter." From your perspective, "Everyone is born in sin because of Adam's disobedience." Thus you find, "a repented born-again believer...makes up his or her mind to fully follow Christ, for better or for worse." According to your research, such a process often includes navigating conceivable pitfalls of "denomination" and perhaps following a "spiritual instinct." As the work progresses, you address a range of questions, from "Do we know the exact date of Christ's birth?" to "What are the fruits of repentance?" Later you posit "similarities between a marriage ceremony and baptism" around the idea of a "once in a lifetime experience in which one's personal relationship with Him is ever improving and very personal."
The concluding chapters of "Voice of Him the Crieth in the Wilderness: A Voice Crying in the Wilderness of Our Denominations and Religions" contemplate questions relating to the "Necessity of the Holy Ghost," "the doctrine of the Trinity," and viable interpretation of certain language in the bible. Among your closing comments you express, "When Christ died, a human being died for the sins of all." Altogether your offering is designed to participate in a special field of inquiry as well as to enlighten and provoke thought for the reader who might express an interest in a related idea.
