Finally a no nonsense approach! May 14, 2008
By Marykate Blankenburg
"Marykate Blankenburg"
In November 07', at age thirty, I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure. My husband and I were told the only way we could have a biological child was through IVF. Since November I have been reading infertility books, looking for emotional support. In the tradition books all I was able to find was factual and scientific information, which stated what was wrong with me, but never really reached the heart of the matter. When I read Jill's book, I finally felt like someone understood me. While the book is a fictional account of her experience, her emotions must have been completely nonfiction! I have had so many "me too" moments while reading this book. It has been the first book that has made me realize I am not completely crazy. Knowning the others have had frustrating experiences with doctors, and adoption agencies and medications(as well as unsolicited information!!) has been both comforting and helpful. I would recommend this book to any woman suffering from infertility. I would also recommend this book to anyone who has a friend or family member suffering, it is an eye-opening glimpse into the ups and downs of infertility.

What Really Matters Apr 04, 2007
By Manic Mom

A friend gave me this book, knowing I would enjoy it. I just finished it tonight, and really did like it! Jill Sayre writes from the heart and from her own personal experiences, yet fictionalizes the world in her novel so I, as the reader, wondered what really happened to the author.
The Waiting Womb is a triumphant story of how a heart can heal and that it does not just take a womb to make a family. It takes love, selflessness, and strength. The characters in the novel were so very real - it reads like a memoir, one that I couldn't put down!
I look forward to reading more of Jill Sayre's work!

You Must Read This Book! Mar 05, 2007
By MAK I could not put this book down. It is very well written with a bit of humor and easy to read. It shows what a woman goes through during infertility treatments and how her life is affected by the decisions she makes. It also touches on international adoption. My husband and I experienced infertility and are now beginning the adoption process. It was very comforting to read this book and know that we are not the only couple affected by infertility. I highly recommend reading this book before you start any infertility treatments as it gives you a glance at what it entails. It also helps you understand others who have gone through this difficult process. I can't wait to read Jill's next book.

Wonderful Read Feb 22, 2007
By Jennifer Hall This is a fantasic book! I couldn't put it down - and that is saying something for someone that has a 2 and 4 year old and rarely gets a free moment to read!
I have never had infertility problems, but I have known many people that have. I certainly learned a lot. But this book it not JUST about that. It is also about complex relationships all woman have with their husbands, friends, children, etc. It makes you want to cry on one page and the next you are laughing out loud, partly because any woman can relate to the emtional struggles the main character, Julia, is dealing with from time to time! I highly, highly recommend this book and have already e-mailed all my friends to buy a copy. When is the next book out????

A Great Peek into Another's Life Nov 27, 2006
By Joy Ward While this book has its core the frustration and angst of infertility, it is not a one-note sob story. The daily grind of the main character, Julia, is anything but routine and is a wonderful portrayal of a believable and complex person juggling the emotional, physical and mental demands of being a wife and Mother, while yearning to become a Mother again. The sparring, nagging, frustrating but ultimately loving husband-wife exchanges are realistic, often funny and add a great deal of heart to this novel. I can't wait for Jill Sayre's next book!
