Excellent Survey of the Concept of Chi Aug 18, 2010

"Gourmand"
I thought that this was an excellent and cogent analysis of Chi. The author assembles theories and evidence attempting to explain the existence of Chi from a Western perspective while offering a well-written explanation of Chi from an Eastern perspective. The book also includes helpful illustrations that assist in explaining the concepts.
A work of a Scholar Warrior. May 19, 2009
By Corey H. Wiscomb In his book, The Wellspring, Christopher Dow presents a thorough and studied presentation of both the deeper esoteric side of, and the scientifically tangible data surrounding the presence of Chi. While being very technical and accurate, Dow's inclusion of parables and story telling mixed in throughout are a nice balance between right and left brain, keeping the reader stimulated at all times. Perhaps the most intriguing thing about this read is that I found it constantly leaving my mind in a state of ponderance on the deeper practices of Chi even after setting the book down. Dow's writing definitely draws on the experience of a Martials Arts practitioner and makes this a great book for Martial Arts enthusiasts (especially those of the internal arts) looking for deeper understandings of the 'how & why' behind the mystical force known as "Chi". Inclusion of this book to your library might not just be a great choice, but also an indespensible one.
