Awesome page turner! Jun 11, 2008
By N. Monson This story unfolded in a beautifully intricate way, drawing me in and holding me as the main character, Jeanne, discovers she's onto a big juicy story that could make a name for herself. The complexity of weaving the many threads of the past into a tense climatic end kept me engrossed for an entire afternoon and evening until I knew the end! I couldn't put it down. A great read with lots of wonderful characters, fascinating history, intrigue and sizzle!
Captivating! Sep 24, 2009
By S. Shum The subtitle, "A Story of Love and Physics" immediately captivated me, as I"m fascinated with quantum physics (though nowhere near comprehending it). Staci Collins has created a wonderful story interweaving present and past, quantum physics and buddhist philosophy, journalism and dotcom, San Francisco and New Orleans, and of course, love and physics. I couldn't put it down. Congratulations on a wonderful story, Staci. Look forward to your next book. Sandy (a fan in Thailand)
Congratulations! Feb 09, 2009
By Rural Reader Dear Staci,
My name is Gwen and I've met you at the San Gregorio Store and bought your wonderful book at the November gig. Just wanted to congratulate you on such a terrific piece of writing and I certainly hope it gets recognized. One reader's comment that it reads like a romantic Da Vinci code certainly seems apt. I also found myself thinking "Katherine Neville" with better writing! Much success to you and please keep writing.
Cheers,
Gwen
A Magical "World" Feb 04, 2009
By Suzanne Lake From time to time a book comes along that is truly magical-both in story and the ability to grip and hold the reader. "The World Beneath" is such a story. One is caught up in the hopes and dreams of the characters, looking for a resolution that is not revealed until the end. Despite nights of covert reading with a tiny light so as not to disturb a sleeping spouse, the myriad story lines were not tied up neatly in a bundle, nor was the ending necessarily the hoped-for one.
Although defining the relationships of the many characters in this gripping novel can be, at times, a bit challenging, it is well worth the hunt. Sometimes, as in life, the many conflicts and false leads are not resolved completely, leaving the reader wanting more. Perhaps a sequel, Ms. Collins?
