The Yin/Yang Effect

The Yin/Yang Effect is an urban love story that takes place in Indianapolis, In. The story centers around Opal and Pearl Jefferson, twin sisters, and their best friend, Debra Flores. Opal, Pearl and Debbie are young, beautiful, single women of the new millennium. They co-own a beauty shop together, have their own cars, their own place and no man to answer to. Although not totally against a meaningful relation-ship, with a worthy being of the male species, they're enjoying their freedom and are having their needs met. As long as they stick to their "no strings attached" policy the need for a boyfriend isn't tops on their priority list. The dating scene is fun and exciting, but they also learn it's not all fun and games when they start to cross the lines of right & wrong, black & white, normal & just plain weird. Although Dana Littlejohn was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York she has called Indianapolis, In. her home for over 10 years. Since childhood she loved to write and it showed in contest winning poetry and writing short stories to entertain her friends as she got older. The Yin/Yang Effect is her debut novel and she is currently putting the finishing touches on her next novel, Behind the wings.

5what a great read!  Apr 23, 2006
By A true Brooklyn Babe
This book was great! I laughed, I cried, I was angry...it pulled on every emotion I had. I was on an emotional roller coaster and I loved it! I read this book on the train on the way to work and people thought I was crazy as I back talked the book when I let my emotions get the better of me. I liked the characters very much. They were real and positive women of the world. I also liked the fact that the book moved out the box on several "taboo" subjects. I picked this book because the author was from Brooklyn and now I'm glad I took a chance on her. It's was good to see a hometown girl to it up right and I await her next book. Good job!

4I really liked it!  Mar 04, 2006

I was surprised because I really liked this book and I'm not a romance reader. This book was more like an action romance movie. It had just enough action and sex to keep me interested and turning the pages. I recommend it to all readers!

33.5stars for The Yin/Yang Effect.  Jun 16, 2008
By Anna Umana
The Yin/Yang effect was a really nice story about how Pearl, Opal and Debbie are friends and all live together in one apartment who find love with not only the opposite sex but interracial love at that. Opal and Pearl are twins but are complete opposites while Pearl is sweet and sensitive Opal is a bit of wild card who has a bit of a temper. Debbie is basically goes along with Opal most of the time. I thought the book could approve in the dialog because at sometimes it could get confusing on which person was speaking. The typos also, threw me a bit because you sometimes have reread sentences. I also thought the book could have been more descriptive about the characters. I also thought the author could have put more emphasis into the relationship of Opal and Doug the way she did with Pearl and Jake and also Debbie and Rakim. All in all was good book including the minor things.

1Poorly written  Jun 12, 2008
By D. Chase "loves to read"
Very poorly written.

I read this book a week ago, it was so badly written I couldn't tell you what it was about.

Personally I wouldn't rate this book, and am sorry I purchased it.
