Wake Up Call May 08, 2009
By Dolores J. Fisher John Dupris' book is an excellent look into the terrorist threat to the United States. He manages to lead us to the real reason our current policies against it won't work, while entertaining us with a bit of interesting Roman history. In total, the illuminating look provided into the world of politics in America, the workings of the FBI-their failures and triumphs, and the capabilities of our military, combine to make "Third Party Candidate" an excellent, suspense-filled read from the first page to the chilling Author's note at the end of the book. I look forward to reading many more books by John Dupris!

Third Party Candidate Apr 15, 2009
By Elizabeth Allen
""avid reader""
Many authors and film makers have written about and produced movies about terrorists and their intentions. This is the first novel or story line I have read that does not center on the theme of "bad guy intends to do bad things, but get caught in the nick of time. This author tackles the bigger question of what can be done to reduce the chances of a nuclear attack here at home. Of course the whole book is fictitious with the exception for references to the "Farewell Dossier" which I found clever. Don't let anyone talk you out of reading this book. John Dupuis in this book outlines, not blaming either side for their beliefs, a likely scenerio of how this attack could take place. The author plots a likely response for a President that is unwilling to retaliate in a way that will kill millions of people. Can he do it? Read this great book and find out.

Excellent Read May 10, 2009
By Donna K. Nelson
"Reader One"
I haven't read a book by this author before, but I'm glad I read this one. The book is scary because it is almost a 'blueprint" of what could happen with the kind of "third world" nuclear proliferation that is going on in places like Iran, Pakistan, and India. The protagonist knows that continued governing of the world, by De Facto, is the wrong thing to do. But, the worse happens, before he is elected to the highest office in the land. This was a new experience for me in reading, this is usually not the type of book I read, but it was a real eye opener. This book is a really great read. This guy knows how the mind of a terrorists works. In a refreashing way, the author does not take sides in this clash of cultures. This is not a "24" standard approach to drama. Read it if you dare! Your attitude concerning government will change.

Great Eye Opening Book Apr 29, 2009
By Mark Harrison Awesome Book! It is a real eye opener into what could happen to the United States if we are not careful. Great read and would recommend to anyone.
Interesting Story Poorly Written and Edited Oct 28, 2011
By James B. Duffy Although the book is a couple of years old, the title suggests it remains relevant in today's political climate. So, I "Kindled" it and am reading it. Now about one-third of the way through, I think (1) Dupuis must have been paid by the word, (2) the writing is about the quality of an average college student and (3) the editing is so sloppy there are grammar or punctuation or spelling errors on many, many pages.
I can say it's OK to buy if you're into this genre, but read it for the story and read past it's kind of amateurish and less than English 101 presentation.
