Thoughts from a Bottle includes poems of personal anguish that we all recognize. Through Bray's pain comes poems of such heartbreakingly beautiful prose, the reader experiences the stages of grief one goes through with any kind of loss. In Damn Your Eyes and Be Careful What you Say About People, we hear anger in losing the one you love. In Anything, love scorned gives way to the denial-maybe she/he stills loves me if I'll give her/him anything, and in Everyone is Walking Dead, despair, hopelessness and a feelings of death are represented in a defeated, empathetic voice. Finally, with Four Long Years, alcohol addiction coupled with thoughts of suicide will leave you breathless with bittersweet sadness.
