Thriving in the Flat World: Career transformation in the "offshore-outsourced" IT sector

A different book about outsourcing. Thriving in the Flat World examines outsourcing from a different perspective . . .. . .the individual's. Unlike prior material on the subject, this book is not about how corporations can benefit from offshore outsourcing. It's about how individuals can succeed in the face of the offshore sourcing revolution sweeping the IT sector. In this engaging story of job loss and career transformation, the author provides 'industry insider' information about: - Opportunities in our outsourced economy - A primer of offshore outsourcing - delivery and sales - India and the outsourcing industry - its evolution and the forces that drive it today - Career transformation and the motivation for change

5Relevant, Guiding and Intersting  Mar 07, 2007
Amongst the several books and articles written about outsourcing, this book stands out because it tells you how you - a corporate IT Executive in Western world - can look at Outsourcing as an opportunity and gives a very specific usable options for career transformations. Interstingly as a bonus, it gives a very good perspective on history of "Continent:India". It covers that history which is relevant to Outsourcing and which is least known to the western World. For those who are not from corporate world - thay can enjoy a reality based intersting story.

Would like to see similar books on other professionals who need to transform their careers due to outsorucing.
