Through the Fog

Michael Pencher works as a middle school English teacher, but he doesn't have to. His wife, Wendy, brings home enough money to keep him, a fact her father never lets him live down. High blood pressure limits Michael's diet choices, his hair is gone, and he has a shameful tattoo of a mushroom on his shoulder. A student asks Michael what kind of person "he was back in the day," and Michael struggles for an answer. Buying a car helped other men in this situation, so Michael goes "just to look." He takes a 1968 Mustang for a test ride through the fog and ends up in his past at a time when his destiny was set without him. He has a chance to relive this time, but what happens when he gets caught up in it and misses his ride back? Can he face his past to build a better future?

5Through the Fog  Feb 15, 2005
By R. Jones
I just wanted to say I thought this book to be very good. Mr. Kohl is a great writer. I rarely read books but I ordered and read this one and am glad I did. The book also made me think of my own life and paths chosen to end up who I am today. I like a book that makes me think.

Excellent book! Could hardly put it down - was such an interesting concept - one I think many of us had probably thought about for our own lives. Jim is a terrific writer!
