5A lovely Christmas Story  Nov 26, 2008
The Christmas story is seen through the eyes of the Christmas star. Tnetnoc - pronounced T-Net-Nock - is just an ordinary star...or so he thinks. He's not as important as the North Star whom everyone knows, & sailors use to guide them. He's not even part of a constellation like the Big Dipper. Still, he would shine as brightly as he could...then one day his important job arrives & he realises the purpose God had for him.
A lovely story - it really draws you into the feelings, fears & frustrations of Tnetnoc. Through it all he does his best to shine as brightly as he can teaching children that God has a purpose for our lives even amid difficulties & disappointment, & to not give up.
There are a few places in the book for children to draw their own pictures - a nice touch.
Why is he called Tnetnoc? Well, I don't want to spoil the story, so you'll have to read & find out for yourself! (By the way, I didn't guess why he was called Tnetnoc, but I think that made the revealing in the story more special!)

Other Christmas stories for children:
God Gave Us Christmas (God Gave Us...)
The Story of Baby Jesus (Alice in Bibleland Storybooks)
One Starry Night: Stop and Smell the Roses Series
The Little Lamb of Bethlehem

5Principles covered in the book  Oct 20, 2008
Not only will the Christmas story be revisited, but the reader will also revisit/learn biblical principles such as:
Do not envy other

Everyone has a special gift/ability and these come from God

Sometimes good things/success can prevent our living for God if we are not careful

We must continue to live for God when bad things happen

Sharing the Good news of Jesus and showing others His way is everyone's ultimate purpose.

Be content with where God has placed you if you are in His will

Be available for God's purpose for your life.

The reader can focus on a different principle with their child during each reading.
The book also has places in it where your child can add thier own drawings making it a keepsake to be enjoyed for years.
