4Empoering Parenting Style  Mar 08, 2010
By Readers Paradise "Book Club"
I took this book with me to read at my hair appointment yesterday. I started it on the train, what a wonderful read. I don't have children but I care about them and my friends have kids. Toxic Ingredients shows help parent/guardian show the child more than what they see in their own backyard. Inspiring Andy encourages parents to find boundaries between discipline and allowing children to have a voice.
The consistent theme of Toxic Ingredients is; love your child enough to respect and discipline them, love them enough to guide them in a way they won't depart from, love them enough to give of yourself. It is a fresh innovative way for kids to deal with parents and parents to deal with kids. The old way isn't working. Inspiring Andy certified Life Coach has written this book at the right time. I challenge you to buy, read and execute from it what resonates with your spirit.

5'All my life, I've had a passion for people...helping people discover solutions to reach their dreams - That's Empowerment!'  Mar 06, 2010
By Grady Harp
Seeing an author whose name on a book is 'Inspiring Indy' leads to curiosity if not to disbelief regarding the validity of a book. In this case the nom de plume is that of Indelethio Nebeker, a certified Life Coach, a missionary, an English as a Second Language director, a man who participated in the nurturing of the 9/11 victims, and a motivational speaker. His primary concern is aiding teens coming out of jail in finding a sense of self esteem to prevent recidivism. And when all of that background information is shared, this little easy to digest and easy to follow book gains considerably in credibility and should become a part of the school systems and the libraries of all parents with teenagers.

TOXIX INGREDIENTS: THE TOP 10 FACTORS THAT GET YOUR KID IN TROUBLE explains the contents of this book well. In a no nonsense and very supportive role, 'Inspiring Indy' lists the primary excuses vs reasons kids use to get into trouble: 'It was after 10 PM, I wasn't thinking, hanging out with the bad friends, we were bored, alcohol, drugs, no one is listening, broken family, no God - no conscience, no God - no self worth.' How familiar these all sound, right? Well, the author briefly explains the whys of these excuses and how parents can approach each of them in a non-punitive, very supportive way. In his Introduction the author/coach shares his technique of working with troubled teens: he places one teen in the middle chair and flanks him/her with another 'actor' teen as the Good Angel and the Bad Angel and then proceeds to demonstrate the influence and powers and choices of both sides of a situation. 'It is important at this point to make mention that my role is to empower each student to find their own unique Message of Love, using their own words, in order to stay out of trouble. And it works every time.'

For some the ending of the book with its emphasis on the religious aspects of the author's thoughts may seem a bit too pat, but for those with troubled teens or potentially troubled teens this little book holds not only hope but techniques heretofore sorely missing from aids that can prevent the downslide into bad behaviors that face the children of today. 5Resource for Daily Interaction with our Kids - Fantastic!  Oct 14, 2009
By M. Leahy "Marty L"
Finally a book about raising kids that has practical application! In our day to day lives we rarely stop and think are there any signs that point to trouble with our kids and is there anything that we as parents can do to prevent our kids from straying down the wrong path. Indy lays out some straight forward easy to understand concepts that will allow us as parents to protect our kids, communicate with them using techniques they relate to and lead them into a prosperous future. Thanks Indy for such a beneficial resource!

5Best book of this type that I've ever read!  Oct 13, 2009
By Susan Raymond
Terrific book! "Toxic Ingredients" is a user friendly book with a straightforward approach to help parents raise their children to be productive adults. I have read other larger, more expensive books of this type that have less substance. Indy has a firm grasp on what it takes to raise children in today's world. I definitely recommend this book---it's a must read for any parent.
