It's refreshing to read a book to a child that is a REAL story, i.e., a story about a real character, in this case a Beagle named TULIP in an adventure from Kentucky to Minnesota. Kids can identify with the illustrations because they look like something they'd draw: imaginative, colorful, fun. Tulip is shown as a warm, happy puppy that many of us dreamed about getting for Christmas, and to top it off, the back cover shows a picture of the REAL Tulip happily residing in Minnesota!

This is a great story about a beagle, who ends up in a loving home after a long, rough road. My daughter has always loved dogs and she thoroughly enjoyed this story. She has now has convinced us that we need to get one soon! I think that kids of all ages would enjoy this story and I recommend it!

This story brought tears to my 8 year-old daughter's eyes as she read it to me for the first time last week. It is a loving and fun story about a Beagle making her way from rural Kentucky to Minnesota in search of a permanent home (and is based on a true story).
The story is loving and warm with a good dose of hope added to the mix. The illustrations are warm, vibrant, and very eye catching. My kids choose this book almost every night to practice reading from. Do not hestitate to purchase this book; it is a must for children to learn about courage and hope and the love that young puppies need from those that adopt them!

This book is a great book about an adventure of a dog from birth to adoption. Working in the field where this story is common, it is so great to see and hear it with pictures! It has wonderful illustrations to boot! A very good book for any parent or anyone who enjoys animals!

A colorful, beautiful and heartwarming story about a lovable pup who finds her way, through trials and tribulations, to a caring and loving family. The illustrations are full of little surprises and the story engages from the first sentence. ...a wonderful treat.
