The Twelve Steps--one by one--in depth and in source Mar 28, 2008
By Daxton Lyon When I was exposed to 12-step programs and became deeply involved in biblical research and Bible fellowships, I wanted to know where it all came from. Of course, there were step-studies, Big Book studies, step guides, and discussions of the Twelve Steps galore. But there was no simple tool that enabled me to look at each of the Twelve Steps--one by one; find out the various specific roots that contributed to an individual step; see where the language originated; learn the diversity of religious and secular ideas that became woven in; and then hear exactly how to take each step with A.A.'s Big Book, the Bible, the history of A.A., and the Creator at hand. Here is a concise, specific, simple study of, and guide for, anyone who really wants the skinny on the 12 Step process. As an ex VMI student and Marine, I like Manuals. And I like those best which give me an authoritative guide on how to--one that I can apply when confronted with the subject involved. This book is like one of those useful manuals; but it keeps the Creator and the Bible in focus as it provides the help needed to "take" the steps.

Not quite what I was looking for. Apr 25, 2009
By S. Kearney This book contains a lot of valuable information, but I was a bit disappointed with the amount of blatant advertising for other titles by the author. The book seemed more of a list of the author's other titles, than an attempt to present what the author mentioned on the cover, and what the title of this volume would indicate.
