More than a red kettle and bell... Apr 05, 2009
By T. Norwood Even though this is a years old story, it still speaks to today's world. The detailed life stories of souls who, maybe in our eyes, are beyond redemption, becomes a story of salvation and change. As you read about people who have degraded and been degraded, you think about how they have fallen. Forgiveness seems impossible and redemption even more impossible. Then you see how the individuals of the Salvation Army become a lifeline to those hurt, lost, and cast off. Even more poignant is the fact that the quiet, consistent "helpers" often came from the same or worse situations.
If you think of red kettles and ringing bells outside of supermarkets and think the Salvation Army is a corporation of "do goeders", you need to read this book! The Salvation Army is full of second chance people helping others get a second chance. These stories show that anyone can be regenerated and God can change anyone and anything. Great heart renewing story!

Have you ever seen a clinic without a doctor? Have you ever seen a clinic without giving prescription? If you have not seen, then there is a virtual clinic which Salvation army have who treats people with bad addictions. Their clinic is with a GREAT PHYSICIAN who is LORD JESUS CHRIST. Other prescriptions can fail, but if GOD gives you a prescription and if you take as it says it, you are 100% healed without any further follow up. All you need to do is have faith. The author showed how the lives are changed by this attitude.
Regeneration Clinic of Salvation Army Feb 01, 2011

This book written by author Tuchy says about how Salvation Army about 100 years ago played a vital role in changing people lives who are addicted to alchohol and drugs. I could not even imagine how they could approach so many people and changed their lives, when people were so rude about 100 years ago. The law and order was strict, so even if you try to consel someone, you may get shot. It really took their faith in GOD to achieve this one. The book opened a different dimension for people who underestimated salvation army.
sacrifice to change lives Feb 01, 2011

The author reminded us the 100 year old process can still do the job today in changing people's lives. Salvation Army is a silent army who saves, help people in this worldly life. They do not go for war, but they war against alcholism, drugs and other things which could spoil one's life. The sacrifice and the fight they made is reminded by the authors by us in the same original form for the modern world. The testimony of people whose lives got changed are really heart touching.
As true today as it was 100 years ago Feb 01, 2011
By Benj A reprint of the exact book from 1909, the author Harold Begbee tells the story of the Salvation Army and how they help men suffering from alcoholism. Today, more than 100 years later, the topics and stories are as relevant as they were when the book was first published. The men, with the help of the Salvation Army and faith in God, turned their lives around. A truly inspiring and uplifting book that shows a second chance is possible.
Reprinted by Carl Tuchy Palmieri, "Twice Born Men - A Clinic of Regeneration" is well worth reading.
