Two Billion Dollars in Nickels: Reflections on the Entrepreneurial Life

Entrepreneurship is not about owning a business; it's about owning your life. Kinko's founder Paul Orfalea's entrepreneurial philosophy melds business, personal finances, lifelong learning, and the pursuit of happiness. It's a very uplifting and rewarding way of looking at the world. Two Billion Dollars in Nickels offers bite-sized nuggets of Orfalea's acquired wisdom on the themes of ownership, judgment, and self-knowledge. It’s a thin book, but you’ll find a useful idea on every page. Whether you own the business, manage a division, or simply aspire to be a good leader in everything you pursue, an entrepreneurial frame of mind may well be the key to greater success and happiness.

4Concise and to the point  Sep 14, 2010
By Andrew
If you've ever had a chance to meet Paul, he is all about not beating around the bush and getting to the truth of things as quickly as possible. It shows in this tiny book as he simply outlines his business philosophy and approach towards handling finances in a very easy to read and understanding manner. I appreciate the conciseness and usefulness of this book more than his autobiography Copy This! which wasn't as useful an insight into the business maverick's methods, though perhaps it gave more context to his lessons. I've had a rare chance to have Paul as my professor and this book is good summary to the lessons we learned in the entrepreneurial course I took with him.

5Ethics, Judgment, Common Sense  Apr 07, 2009
By Scott Bogart "author of Enlightened Dating for Men"
When Paul Orfalea shares his thoughts, he never disappoints. This book, as with his others, is easy to read, clear, concise and relevant. If more top executives would take the time to study Orfalea and his methods, it's less likely that corporate America would be in the mess it's in today.

5Great stuff  Mar 12, 2009
By John C. Miller
This book was very good at delivering several excellent concepts and practices in a concise, easy to read manner. The authors promise to get to the point and not beat it to death, and they deliver on that extremely well. Many of the concepts in the book make a ton of sense and are very easy to implement in whatever business or life venture you're pursuing. A refreshing quick read that you can put to work the next day. Also, I really appreciated the author's perspective on differences in learning style and ability. All around good stuff, and a bargain at $12.99.

5There is Beauty in Brevity  Mar 11, 2009
By Mary E. Gardner
I'm thrilled to be able to read an entire business book without having my attention wander for even a moment. While other books drown you in examples. this book provides real business lessons without beating them to death. Lessons about the joy of making money, how treating workers and customers right makes you money, and ideas on how to think about your business. These concepts worked for Paul Orfalea and they are worth doing in our businesses as well.

5Worthwhile Lessons  Mar 11, 2009
By M. Fasth
This is a great book for all those interested in business - from educators, owners, managers and students This quick paced reader can give you simple yet proven ideas to implement in your own business. It reads like in real life - many thoughts and ideas right from the authors, its like having Dean and Paul talking directly to you. Read a chapter a day and use the information and I bet you will see positive results...I have!
