Good but could be better Jul 19, 2009
By J. Perez Not a bad book. He covers every major muscle group and provides you with some body resistance excercises for each one of them. My problem with the book is the pictures are so poor/dark on some pages that the image is unviewable. Also some of the fonts used in this book make it difficult to read; some of the letters actually show up as squares as if this book was copied from an ASCII text editor into Microsoft Word and the fonts got scrambled. Too bad - this book could have been top notch with color pictures and regular fonts. Also this book is not for begginers to bodyweight excercises. Buy the Men's Health BEST Weight-Free workout to start with.

Good book, but some of the exercises are nothing new Jan 28, 2010
By knowledgeispower I've been a gym rat for over a decade and I've read many magazines and books about fitness. This one contains good exercises, but I already knew 75% of them. However, I've always incorporated calisthenic exercises into my weight-lifting routine, and I have done alot of research on calisthenics over the years. Although I knew a alot of the exercises he put a different spin on some of them. For instance, he does a type of push up called "fifteens" which I never thought to do. It's pretty interesting, but I won't give it away. There's great information in this book and clear illustration about the exercises. I can only give it four stars because I feel it is a bit over-priced. He does include some good routines that you can use, so not only does he show the exercises but he provides you with some workout options. Overall I think this is a good book to have around. You'll easily read it in under an hour, but the fitness that you gain will last a lifetime.

Good to go! Dec 08, 2009
By j009 Simple yet effective... Wish it had more on stretching and taking care of joints. I've followed it pretty religiously for about 4 months. I take some extra days off just to prevent injuries. My girlfriend and I both have noticed a big difference. Some of the exercises are difficult, but I do a few each session and before you know it you can do quite a bit more. I would say consistancy is key. Overall it is a worth buying if you are in to bodyweight exercises. It does not include everything, but that is typical for most books. Bodyweight exercises are definitely better than weight lifting. No gym required. Can get a pullup bar that hooks on to door frame from SportsAutority. Can do most exercises almost anywhere, anytime. Saves money and becomes addictive after a while.
