Vienna Blood

In this volume, the author recalls his teenage years in the 1950’s, which are saturated with all the tribulations and anxieties of daily life – in school, on the street, with his friends and with the opposite sex. The city of Vienna, Austria, with its history and beauty provides the background to his stories. But it does more: it lingers as a precious part of his life, a place where he first experienced love and friendship, as well as teen angst and fear of failure. His appreciation for the music of Strauss, Mozart et al, and local Viennese compositions also stems from that time. The title, Vienna Blood (“Wiener Blut” in German), refers to a popular song of the era, and is meant to show how quickly the unique Viennese blood can heat up in the pursuit of love.
