Stunning Aug 12, 2006
By CharliePBB Never has a book grabbed my imagination as much. This gritty compelling story brought tears to my eyes, a smile to my cheek and dread in my stomach. A unique read - only hope the author is writing another book as we speak.

A tremendous first effort Apr 11, 2007
By R. I. Hallenbeck Watching by JA Pettitt is proof that worthy books written by relatively unknown authors will be published and read. This is certainly a very commendable book, fraught with excellent in depth character study and a fast flowing plot. One question, does the author know me? Many instances from the novel follow closely to my early childhood life living at home. At times I cringed in rememberance of events that appear in the book the were almost identical to mine. This book should be read and re-read! Kudos to the author and here's hoping you will continue in your writing.

Great Book - Compelling Story Feb 19, 2007

In the very beginning I did not like the story but I plugged along. It was so bleak and painful. HOWEVER, it did not take long before I found Jessy and her life compelling and couldn't put the book down. I ran through the entire gamut of emotions with Jessy. I would definitely recommend this book. I carefully reserve 5 stars, but I would have given this one 4.5 stars easily.
