Stefania Gisladottir provides an account of her earlier life in a farming community on a fjord in east Iceland and she also details the transition made later in life by moving to Australia with her husband and children. Gisladottir's poetry invokes powerful imagery of the people and environments of both countries and it appeals to all the senses. At times the poetry is obscure but room for multiple interpretations functions to stimulate interest.
