5Magical...  Sep 13, 2010
By Beth Hoffman
Marta Moran Bishop is stunningly talented. This wonderful book is not only charming, but it holds a bit of magic on each page ... the kind of magic of days gone by. The beautifully rendered prose urges us to remember, to close our eyes and revisit slower days, childhood days, when there were no cell phones or computers to distract us from seeing the wonders in nature and the world of make-believe.

I'm sad this book is currently out of stock and I hope it becomes available soon; it's the perfect gift for anyone who grew up with a rich imagination. I believe this collection of poems should be cherished and placed on a shelf with other works that evoke the spirit of childhood wonders. Highly recommended!

5The Whimsy of Early Childhood Told In Verse  Mar 16, 2011
By Robert Dinsmoor
Reading Wee Three by Marta Moran-Bishop took me back to my early childhood in the early 1960s, much of it before my family had a TV. Each piece is its own delightful gem. The melodically rhyming verses, wonderfully illustrated by Hazel Mitchell, capture the curiosity that small children have for their own little universe, as they wonder about nature, pets and, most of all, the behavior of grown-ups. In "Bird Tracks Upon the Snow," a child figures out why bird tracks in the snow suddenly stop; in "Mr. Clancy," she wonders whether her pet turtle really likes her and, in "Cinderella Mother," she marvels over the transformation of her mother into Cinderella as she dresses up for a night out. She also captures the world of make-believe: In "Two-Gun Dink," a red bandana transforms a small boy into a fierce bandit and, in "Our Hideaway," a small closet becomes the setting for all kinds of adventures involving Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Robin, knights, ladies, pirates, and maidens. There's a prevailing sense throughout the book that these activities are a crucial part of growing up. I highly recommend this book for little kids, nostalgic baby boomers, and especially modern parents who push their kids to grow up too fast.

5The Memory Keeper for Childhood -Never get tired of reading it.  Feb 17, 2011
By Karen
Marta has created the perfect balance in a book for the children in all of us. I read a poem or two just to put a smile on my face. I can't help but think of my own childhood and the simple time children are blessed to have. The Verses are also suitable for children! My son can relate to each one, and now he has memorized a few and recites them spontaneously. Marta has lovingly gift as the memory keeper of childhood. I don't hesitate to recommend this book and I give to everyone I know who is having a baby!

5Enchanting Stories to Treasure  Feb 07, 2011
By Carolyn Wentworth

Marta Moran Bishop is a naturally gifted storyteller. Wee Three is an exquisite book of charming short stories in verse. I love how the author has captured the beauty and innocence of a child's imagination, making each story magical, filled with excitement and wonder.

Wee Three is unique in the way the author has been able to utilize the simple beauty of life. The marvels of nature in all its' glory, summer rain, climbing a tree, and many, many, more. Creating a book that will be treasured and read over and over again. I will be recommending this splendid book to everyone I talk to, truly outstanding book for all.

5SIMPLY ENCHANTING!  Jan 29, 2011
By Lisette Brodey "Author"
Marta Moran-Bishop's Wee Three (A Mother's Love in Verse) is like hopping aboard a magic train that transports the reader back to her/his youth. Having grown up being read to from A Child's Garden of Verses and Told Under The Blue Umbrella, this author's poetry, reminiscent of the poetry of my youth, is enchanting, delightfully intoxicating, and filled with one treasure after another.

The author is skilled at writing from the child's point-of-view. Children wonder about things that adults have long ceased to ponder. A perfect example is Bishop's poem "Mumps," in which the child is told that the horrid lumps will go away and then wonders where they go.

This book made me smile, laugh out loud, and wonder about life's mysteries all over again. The illustrations by Hazel Mitchell are a beautiful complement to the work of this talented author. I have an inkling I will be purchasing this book again to give as a gift; it is that memorable.
