What Time Is It Feb 16, 2010
By Blakester What Time Is It is a combination science fiction/thriller novel with a lot of humor interspersed. It is the story of a man who accidentally comes across a plot to ruin the American banking system. It takes place in a not too future time when practically everything is computer run and controlled. Eventually the computer intelligence starts to overtake the human. It is also a story of good vs evil, and asks the question can ethical and moral decisions be programmed to be made by computer intelligence. It is not too far fetched to see this progression from the appliances, GPS's, computers, clocks, etc. that now speak to us to machines that actually take on human characteristics and hold debates and conversations with us. This novel is a quick read that is both enjoyable and engaging.

Great Book ! Mar 12, 2010
By Keith Leinauer This is a great book. It is quick paced with very believable, well-formed characters. It also provides a very plausible look into the not so distant future. The style and skill of Richard Thuss are evident in the way he develops the plot and moves it forward in a way that keeps the reader fully engaged. I am recommending What Time Is It to all family and friends who love to read and appreciate a good story.

New, Exciting, Compelling! Mar 01, 2010
By T. Perry Wow! It is great to find a new author with new ideas and a writing style that keeps you turning the pages. I started reading on a Friday morning and didn't put it down until I finished. I won't spoil the book for anyone about to read it, but Thuss has a brilliant idea for what war in the future will look like. I don't know if this book is classified as a techno-thriller or science fiction, but all of the technology advances used in the book were well thought out and plausible enough to keep the story close enough to reality, but just out of reach. I think that should be the goal of science fiction; otherwise, it is somewhere between fiction and fantasy, and I lose interest.
I really liked his character development of the human characters, as well as the self-aware machines, or SAMs as he calls them. I would love to write more but don't want to spoil it for the rest of you. I have asked my wife to read it--quickly--so I have someone I can talk to about some of the ideas brought out in the book. Hopefully, some enterprising young director will get hold of this one and create a movie worth going to see. Thanks Richard Thuss for a great read!

By Florida Joe A quick read because it is artfully written by the brilliant mind of an upcoming author. The suspense and rapid movement of the story line is exhilarating. Though fiction today, these events could very well be in motion and just around the corner... take notice.
The Watch That Watches YOU Aug 14, 2011
By fabre A very interesting suspense novel about our future and our dependence on technology, and how smart-alecky and nosy that technology can be. The idea that our appliances can butt into our lives, and even argue with us, let alone try to kill us simply because we annoy them, is really intriguing. I found this novel thought-provoking and quite enjoyed the humorous aspects along the way, although I'm staying out of elevators for a while. Good stuff, Richard. I'll be reading you again soon.
