You Need To Read This To Know What I Mean Aug 01, 2009
By James Blond
"book worm"
This novel is just too much. Edwin Daystar is real bad. Everything about this guy must be dangerous, from head to toe. When I purchased When Terror Strikes, after a look at the book description, I made up my mind that it would be the last time I was going to buy a thriller because I felt the novel was just another so-called bestseller that was not even good, but poor in quality. Boy, was I wrong.
Edwin Daystar systematically creates a virtual world of all-too-vivid scenes and daredevil characters that the reader hardly realizes when he becomes embroiled in the unfolding drama, a deed which I, like everyone else use to believe was unachievable. Though I am a born skeptic, I have to admit defeat and can't help but give it all to Edwin Daystar when it comes to the mastery of the special art of intrigue. With When Terror Strikes you won't want to watch action movies again because the novel brings the action to you directly in your face.
What kind of novel is this that captures a plot the way even a video can't. I am disappointed. Very disappointed. Disappointed that I wasn't let down by Edwin Daystar's When Terror Strikes like other action thrillers tagged as top sellers have. Wow, where has this novel been all these while that I've been force-fed with the much touted bestsellers that are nothing but thrash? I just got tired of reading the likes of Robert Ludlum, James Patterson, Alan Williams, Tom Clancy, James Brown, Jack Higgins, and decided to give Edwin Daystar a try and boy, did I get a stunning shock.
Being an avid reader of crime novels and having read all-time bestsellers such as The Godfather, The Da Vinci Code, The Day of The Jackal, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, Hannibal, Op-Center, I can say with all certainty that When Terror Strikes is the novel that completely blew me away for the first time.
I was contemplating bidding action thrillers farewell for good until I read the novel for I have long realized that the so-called bestsellers do not really offer the best. Now, reading When Terror Strikes has changed my mind and I can see a promising light at the end of the tunnel that has rekindled my interest in action thrillers. I have cause to smile now that I can see that all hope is not lost that crime novels would regain their lost glory of the past, thanks to the sublime expertise of the likes of Edwin Daystar.
Much as the guy seems likable, I just hate to love this guy's guts because I haven't got anything against him. All I can say is, thumbs up, Edwin Daystar. Keep it up. I'll be on the lookout for your next novel, bro.
I swear, I'll send a hit squad after you if no other novel comes up after this one, just like those hardened criminals in your novels do to whosoever dares them.
